Touareg air suspension stuck in sport mode – any VW specialists near Al Manara?
I’ve got a 2015 Touareg that’s been absolutely bulletproof for the four years I’ve owned it, but a couple of weeks ago I noticed that the air suspension seems to be stuck in what feels like sport mode – the ride is noticeably firmer than usual and when I try to adjust the height or damping using the controls, nothing happens and the light just blinks at me. I’ve tried the old trick of disconnecting the battery for a few minutes to reset the system, but that didn’t change anything, so I’m guessing there’s either a faulty sensor or an issue with the compressor or valve block. The thing is, I’m not particularly mechanically minded and I really don’t want to just start throwing parts at it without a proper diagnosis. I’m based near Al Manara and I’m looking for a workshop that actually knows Touareg suspension systems, because from what I understand, it shares a lot with the Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7 but there are still some specific quirks to the VW setup. I’ve heard that reliable Volkswagen suspension installation for Al Manara drivers is available at a few places, but I’d prefer a personal recommendation because I’ve had mixed experiences with independent VW specialists in the past. Has anyone here had air suspension issues on their Touareg and found a trustworthy shop in Dubai that fixed it without costing a fortune? I’m really hoping it’s something relatively simple like a height sensor rather than a failed compressor, but I’m trying to prepare myself for the worst. Any advice on what I should expect cost-wise would also be really helpful because I’m trying to budget for this. Cheers in advance for any guidance.
